Our Approach

At Murphy International we understand the renewable energy sector because it has been at the heart of our business. We have established a 45-year track record developing projects. In fact, all Murphy International’s facilities are "renewable," using wind, solar, geothermal, waste heat, and a variety of alternative fuels to generate electricity while reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.

Our renewable energy team has a deep understanding of the complex issues of project development and operations (including technology, supply chain, construction, transmission offtake, grid connection, regulatory, incentives and financing). Our greater goal is to work with our local development partner(s), leaseholders, and landowners to establish the renewable project and now Hydrogen as a commercially operating facility and work as an integral team partner.

Approaching Hydrogen development with proven technology, fast-track execution, and integrated hybrid technologies, we can build in stages eventually creating vertical hydrogen energy parks. In the near-term, with our experience with the low cost of renewable generation, we are building a portfolio platform of small-scale green hydrogen production plants with secured offtake arrangements.

Our hydrogen strategy includes Industry and transport (e-fuels for maritime, road fleet vehicles, and air transport) :

  • the location of our hydrogen project network, initially driven by supply and demand, capitalizing on existing infrastructure by using green hydrogen manufacture to provide grid services to the electricity network and integrating supply to the gas network, with trials blending hydrogen and gas
  • expand project network with and commercialize diverse ‘end use’ applications for commercial, industrial, and residential users, including hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, heating and power, and hydrogen in transport.
